currently obsessed: april favourites

How is it May already?! April just flew by. Not that I’m complaining though. It’s officially patio season weather! Here is my round up of most loved and used products for the past month:

THE BODY SHOP VITAMIN E BODY BUTTER

BodyShop-vitamin-e-body-butterTowards the end of March by legs and arms started to get really dry following my trip to Mexico. I reached the dreaded ‘peeling tan’ stage. I needed something with ultimate moisture and an instructor at my gym suggested The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Body Butter. Oh lord, I could kiss her! The body butter melts into my skin and leaves it feeling oh so soft and super hydrated. It has a neutral scent which is great on days when I’m wearing certain perfumes and don’t want body lotion fragrance.

Retails for $20 CAD for 200ml. Can be purchased in store or online. They often have discount offers – I purchased mine during a 50% Off promotion. Continue reading

‘I do’ makeup and hair: mexico edition

Wedding season is among us! Last month I was so honoured when my friends Steph and Julien asked me to be the MC at their wedding in Mexico – they either think I’m funny, good at public speaking or good at herding drunk people. In any case, I was excited to not only attend their wedding but be a part of it. I just had to make sure I paced my intake of margaritas because a drunk MC is only entertaining when the rest of the guests are equally tipsy. Steph also asked me to do her makeup and hair for the wedding. I was excited but also terrified. I’ve done a lot of makeup looks for clients, family and friends…but I’d never done an updo, let alone a bridal updo that Steph is going to have pictures to look at for the rest of her life! The pressure was on. But I like a challenge, so I said bring it on sister!

Steph wanted a natural makeup look with gold-bronze tone eye colours and a low bun updo with a braid. Below are some pictures of the beautiful bride, description of what I did for her look and at the very bottom I’ve included a list of all the products I used.
